SXSW DAY 1.
Woke up at 700am in San Diego. Thing that happened was a chronic fucking nosebleed, due to anxiety of course. Drips on my shirt. I didnt change. PUNK RIGHT. Everything was packed and I left around 730 to the airport.
Once in the terminal I had no fucking clue what gate I was supposed to be at and kindly asked an older gentleman for help. Thank god for old men. Conviently, I was departing out of gate one that was directly to the left of me. Dope. The line for the TSA check was rather short and once it was my turn to put my things in those little plastic containers my shoes wont come off. Holding up the like I bend down to untie them and put them in the container. I then walk to the body scan where i am now looked up and down by a small mexican man. after the scan was over he turns and says, “they say you have too many tattoos.” to which i respond. “alright, i’m sorry” and walk away. very smooth sierra. Im clear for the gate and sit down in my waiting area.
I’m reading a book that I stole from Kameron the wind up bird. (great read check it out) Once i get bored from my reads, I scope out possible hotties to sit by. very very sadly disappointed, ended up sitting next to some random chick and got hit my the flight attendants every 5 minutes. My back hurt, I was on my period and it was just a terrible 2 hours.
Upon arriving, I changed in the bathroom into some shorts. I waited for my ride to pick me up out front. I really wanted a fucking cigarette. I heard my name called on the intercom and apparently I was supposed to go to st louis. not happening. i sorted it out with the southwest ticket people and went on my merry way.
TEX MEX is YUM.
Walked along the riverwalk in San Antonio.
We ended up at starbucks to charge our electronic devices before heading to Austin.
VENTI ICE COFFEE….. $2.12. tax is cheap here. awesome.
I was finally in Austin, home of the infamous South By Southwest Festival.
Met up with Landon and Statuette at Club 1808, in a really sketchy part of Austin. Luggage in hand, I got many stares. I only had a 100 dollar bill and took all of his change for the $12 entry fee. Luggage was put in the car and outcomes what i have been craving all day….
BEERS.
Statuette played soon after and were so fucking solid. I have only seen them once before at The Dial, but this was by far one of, if not the best, sets of the night. I met so many new people, and everyone was very welcoming. Southern hospitality i suppose.
BEERS. MORE BEERS. AND BEER.
By the end of the night I was a bit on the tipsy side. Watched the last band ACxDC. And moseyed on home.
